We provide an ice screw sharpening service using our Grivel Diamond Pro Sharpener. This precision device allows us to breath new life into your old ice screws. The diamond laced file quickly restores most screws, giving you a few more seasons before replacement is necessary.
Whilst our device is designed for Grivel screws it will sharpen most brands (DMM, Petzl, Black Diamond, Camp, Simond, etc.) of modern steel, 4-point screws with a diameter between 19 and 22mm. Some brands/models of ice screw respond better than others, thus you may find slightly differing results if you return multiple brands of screw. Please be aware we cannot sharpen 3-point screws or those made of aluminium or titanium.
To use this service
Please purchase the the number of screws you would like sharpening (£8.50 per screw) and send them to us, well packaged, via a postal or courier service - we recommend a recorded service for your peace of mind, as we cannot be held responsible for screws which go missing on the way to us. Also enclose a copy of your receipt/invoice.
You must ensure you fill in the delivery address field accurately when placing the order as this is where we will return the screws once sharpened. You will be charged £4.50 postage at the point of purchase, this covers the cost of returning the sharpened screws to you. Please note, we do not cover the initial cost of sending the screws to us.
